How I Work
You may know the moment. You’ve decided that this time you’ll respond differently, and then you hear yourself saying the same thing, in the same tone, again. Most of us know more about ourselves than we can yet act on. That gap is what interests me.
My work is about helping adults understand themselves more deeply so they can respond to life with greater clarity, freedom and harmony.
Who I work with
I work with adults on their own who are curious about themselves: their emotions and responses, the patterns they keep returning to, a difficult decision, their relationships, their sense of who they are or where their life is going. Many are thoughtful and capable. They’re coping well on the outside, and they want something deeper than surface-level advice.
You don’t need a diagnosis, a crisis or even a clear problem to come. A question about yourself is a good enough place to begin.
If this sounds like you, request a time. I confirm by email within 4 hours.
Who this may not suit
I’ll be honest with you if I’m not the right fit.
- If you’re looking for a quick motivational fix, this way of working will probably feel too slow.
- If you’re in crisis or at risk of harming yourself, you need more immediate support than sessions can give. Please call Tele-MANAS on 14416, or go to your nearest emergency department.
- I work within the limits of my training. If what you need falls outside them, I’ll tell you plainly and suggest where to look for the right kind of support.
- Questions about diagnosis or medication belong with a psychiatrist. Where it helps, I’m glad to work alongside one.
How our sessions work
We start with you, not with a technique. We look at what keeps happening, how it feels, when it may have begun and what it might be doing for you.
When something resists changing, I don’t see that as a failure. I get curious about it, because it usually has something important to tell us. Over time, the aim is for you to understand yourself more clearly, and for that understanding to give you more room in how you respond. I can’t promise how quickly that happens, or what it will look like for you. I can promise to take you seriously and to be honest with you.
The Friction Therapy is the framework behind this way of working. You don’t need to read about it, but it’s there if you’re curious.
Your first session
Your first session lasts 40 minutes, like every session, and it’s mostly about getting to know each other. I’ll ask what brings you, a little about your life and what you hope for. You can share as much or as little as you like. There’s no test to pass and no right way to begin.
By the end, we’ll both have a sense of whether this feels like a good fit. It costs the same as any later session, and you’re under no obligation to book again.

Confidentiality
What you tell me stays between us. I don’t share anything about you, including the fact that you see me, without your permission. The only exceptions are a serious risk to your safety or someone else’s, or a legal requirement. If that ever happens, I’ll explain it to you wherever I can. I never use anything you share in my writing without your explicit written permission. Examples on this site are fictional or composite.
